How everything began...
The brilliant idea originally came about in 2017 during a student competition. Fed up with mosquito bites, we tried out the treatment using concentrated heat and were immediately convinced by the principle, but not by the available products. Too clunky, never with us and unadaptable! So we decided to take the development into our own hands.
On an itch-free mission
Heat is an effective way to treat insect bites, and we believed there was room for a smart solution. Driven by that idea, our four founders started developing an innovative medical device while still studying engineering. Today, we are Kamedi GmbH, a dynamic start-up from Karlsruhe, Germany, with our own in-house development and production.

Since 2019, we are a certified medical device manufacturer with our own development and production in the Technologiefabrik of Karlsruhe. In the meantime, more than 25 clever minds are working in various departments of our medtech startup. From procurement, to production, to shipping: we don't leave anything to chance.

Winner of four product tests for insect bite relief! Leading German consumer and tech publications have put heat it® to the test: Stiftung Warentest rated it as the only product with no identified shortcomings, while CHIP, heise and Bild also ranked heat it® first.

On to new horizons. heat it® is now available more than 15 countries across Europe, North America and Asia!

We reach the milestones of 250,000 happy customers and 3 million treatments. A major update also gives the heat it® app a fresh new look.

The new product generation of heat it® takes our insect bite healer to a new level. This is honoured with the ISPO Gold Award and numerous TV appearances.

The time has finally come. heat it® can be purchased in the online store, selected pharmacies and specialty stores.

2019
In the summer of 2019, we were able to convince almost 2,000 people to support us in crowdfunding on Startnext. In parallel, we were able to complete the German certification as a medical device manufacturer.

2018
After founding the company, we found our place at Cyberlab Karlsruhe. This startup accelerator offered us the perfect opportunity to put the final touches on heat it® and our company.

2017
The initial idea came about as part of a student competition at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. This was quickly followed by the first prototypes, further competitions and the first patent applications.
